Melbourne. Paris. London. Where to next? We met on St Kilda Beach, dated in the terrace cafés of Paris and lived the London life. After an engagement party under the lights of the harbour bridge in Sydney, we are now bringing the party to the Loire Valley in France!

The Château de Marçay is located in the heart of the beautiful Touraine region in the Loire Valley. Known for it's wine, castles and regal history, the region was also for many years home to the Mercier family. It is for this reason that we chose this destination for our wedding!
The Château itself is located 10 minutes drive from Chinon which is 45 minutes south-west of the city of Tours. The village of Marçay is tiny, once you are there, you can't miss the Château!
Attention! There are actually a number of villages in France with the name of Marçay so please ensure you are headed for the correct one! We will be in the Indre-et-Loire departement, postcode 37500.
Train: From Gare Montparnasse in Paris, trains can be booked to Chinon and should take approximately 3 hours. Trains in France can be booked up to 3 months in advance via: https://en.voyages-sncf.com/en/ or if you are in Australia: http://www.raileurope.com.au/
Drive: The A10 from Paris is the most direct route to Tours. From there, the D751 is only 45 minutes to Chinon with Marçay 10 minutes south of there.
Fly: The closest airports to Marçay are either Tours, Angers or Poitiers, all of which have regular short-haul flights. From there, you will need to drive or get a train.
AT THE CHÂTEAU
For both the Friday and Saturday nights, we have the entire Château all to ourselves! We would love to have as many of you as possible stay at the Château with us for the weekend but unfortunately there are only 28 rooms! The rooms are all in typical Château style, in a multitude of styles and sizes. Some have room for additional beds, some have outdoor space and some have living rooms however all of them are 400€ for the two nights. Do let us know either on the RSVP or via email if you would like to share the Château with us!
If not staying at the Château, we suggest staying in the town of Chinon, 10 minutes away. There are a range of options such as those listed below.
For the Saturday evening, a bus has been arranged to transport our guests from Chinon to the Château in time for the ceremony. Please do let us know if you are staying in Chinon and would like to use this option. At the end of the evening, taxis can be arranged by the Château reception.
We understand that all of our guests will be travelling for our wedding so gifts are certainly not necessary. If you would like to contribute to our future married life, we have a list at The Wedding Shop to help us with our nuptial home and there are also options to contribute to our honeymoon!
Stilettos may be ill-advised as we will be for the most part on either gravel or grass.
Wraps and Shawls are a good idea. Although it will still be summer, when the sun goes down it could get chilly.
Children under the age of 12 are welcome at the ceremony. Afterwards, they will have their own party space and dinner where baby-sitting will be provided. They will not have a place at the reception dinner however will be on-site for parents to check on them if so desired during the evening.
Bathing Suits should be brought to enjoy the pool. The white dress code will be relaxed for bathing suits!
Brunch will be provided for anyone who would like to join us for a recovery debrief. Let us know if yo would like to come on the RSVP.
